There is room for all of us even Boomers. Can we return to not saying anything on line we wouldn't say to someone's face? I want to see Abbie and Clementine in my office at recess please.

We will require video proof when that happens 🤣

Clem Ford on Abbie Chatfield is one of the most deeply weird things I've seen on the Internet. They are aligned on like... 98% of their ideals. It seems absolutely wild to put most of your energy towards damaging the reputation of a person who has the same values as you but... sells them a bi differently, I guess? than someone who shares none of your ideals and is also, I don't know, actively being evil all over the place. There are sooooooooo many bad guys out there trying to harm women that Clem could criticise and then there is Abbie Chatfield, who basically agrees with her about everything. MAKE THAT MAKE SENSE?

I was so confused about the Clem and Abbie saga. I stopped following Clementine a long time ago, but do follow Abbie. I feel like it’s the old Tall Poppy syndrome. Trying to drag Abbie down because she’s becoming more popular than her? It was hard to watch. Good on Abbie for calling her out.

I hate the notion that Clemetine and Abbie is "drama" between "two women". That feels insulting to Abbie. Admittedly I know literally nothing beyond this article but it sounds like Clementine said a bunch of nasty things in an attack and Abbie said please leave me alone. Again no fight in this game - I don't follow either of them. But I just feel the word "drama" is only used regarding women. Women bring DRAMA. It's happened with Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively - a court case where she has made serious allegations but all over the internet it's treated as "he said she said" DRAMA for us to all gobble up. It feels like these are the moments we'll look back on (as a society) and go "ew I can't believe we treated sexual assault cases as entertaining gossip" in the way that now we are saying "wow I can't believe we used to circle womens cellulite in magazines" or being shocked at our treatment of people such as Britney Spears. I'm not entirely sure Clementine and Abbie are a "why women!" thing. It feels more like "why does CLEMENTINE feel the need to attack another woman to generate headlines to keep her name in the media" I think Clare and many of the women at Mamamia are great examples of all the women who do lift up other women.

Also just as an aside I don't have tiktok but I have a highly unsupported theory that people who go "but Baldoni..." in defence of him are on tiktok because they're being fed a lot of neatly packaged videos presenting a particular case of who he is and who Blake is.

The Glennon Doyle thing was so disappointing/disturbing. I still don't understand what the issue was. She might not have built her platform via Substack but it doesn't mean she hasn't worked hard to build an audience historically off the platform. Just bizarre.

Yes to pointing out Glennon can't be on here but Piers can!! The way Glennon was bullied off this platform was gross.

Clare, you are so right! I was genuinely surprised by the Glennon Doyle commentary, I wonder sometimes how did we get here? It’s wild how often we slip into a scarcity mindset instead of embracing abundance and generosity. Your perspective really hits home and thank you for putting words to it!

Just Clem. You don’t put the bully in the room with her victim if you can avoid it.

Preach! Women tear each other down instead of fighting together against the patriarchy. There is room for all. Pull down the women who are actually against our empowerment, not those on our side. Clem is turning into a weird version of Germaine Greer. She will soon be part of the patriarchy.

I stopped following Clementine Ford awhile ago because I didn’t like her rants. I only hear about her when she’s using someone’s else’s popularity to get attention. Jealous much??
